Great Computer Challenge – Congratulations!!

On March 10th, 2018, St. Matthew’s students were among 29 teams in the Middle School division to compete in the 33rd annual Great Computer Challenge. The Great Computer Challenge is a joint project of WHRO, the Consortium for Interactive Instruction and Old Dominion University! It is a competitive opportunity for students in Kindergarten through 12th Grade to find a solution to a given problem demonstrating their knowledge of various computer applications, programming, and problem-solving skills. Categories include Graphic Design, Desktop Publishing, Music Composition, Desktop Presentations, Web Design, Internet Scavenger Hunt, Integrated Applications, Scientific/Non-Business Programming, Object Oriented Business Programming, CAD, Video Editing, Visual Programming/Block Coding Using Scratch Jr. and Cyber Security. This year, our students participated in all Middle School division categories: Graphic Design, Desktop Publishing, Music Composition, Desktop Presentations, Web Design, Integrated Applications, Object Oriented Business Programming, and Video Editing. This year, all nine teams received awards in all Middle School division categories. Awards ranged from Honorable Mention to First Place. Well done, St. Matthew’s!
