Class Events

halloweenBook Fair:
We sponsor two book fairs a year: one before Christmas and one in the spring. Children and parents have the opportunity to buy books on a wide variety of subject matters.

School Musicales:
Christmas Pageant and Spring Musicale are held annually. (A written excuse needs to be given to the teacher if your child/children cannot attend.)

Catholic Schools Week:
The last week of January is reserved to celebrate the pride in our Catholic School heritage. Our celebrations include special liturgies, teacher appreciation day, open house and a special grandparents meal.

Rob Carbaugh Field Day:
At the end of each school year, St. Matthew’s students compete in field events such as foot races, long jump, pull-ups, ball throw, jump rope, etc. Emphasis is placed on having fun.

Dress-up Days:
Dress-up days (no uniforms required) are the first and last days of school and picture days. Please see the handbook for specific requirements.

Graduation:
Graduation from the 8th Grade at St. Matthew’s is a very special time for our children. The 7th Grade hosts and serves the reception/dance for the graduating class. We gather for a special ceremony followed by a reception and dancing.

We proudly gather in the celebration that completes the foundation for their academic and religious future.

Other events include:
