Saint Matthew’s open house in January is an opportunity for parents or guardians to tour our school, talk to our teachers, and meet some of our students. You can also pre-register your children for the coming school year. If you would like a private tour, you can fill out the pre-registration form here and someone will contact you. We do accept students mid-year in grades where we have openings. Please call us at 757-420-2455 if you are interested.
Catholic and non-Catholic students are welcome at St. Matthew’s.
Kindergarten students must be 5, Kindergarten Prep 4 students must be 4, Kindergarten Prep 3 students must be 3 by September 30th (No Waivers), and Early Learners age 2 must be 2 by September 30th. All preschoolers must be toilet trained before entering the program with exception of our 2 years olds. Toilet training is part of their curriculum.
Requirements for Kindergarten Prep – 2nd School Admission
a) Birth certificate
b) Baptismal certificate for Catholic students
c) Proof of adequate immunizations as required by the Code of Virginia.
d) State of Virginia physical examinations within 12 months of entering school
e) Proof of custody (where applicable)
Requirements for Admission to Other Grades
a) Birth certificate
b) Baptismal certificate for Catholic students
c) Proof of adequate immunizations as required by the Code of Virginia
d) Records from previous school
e) Proof of custody (where applicable)
f) State of Virginia physical examination
g) Placement/screening testing for grades K-8 may be required. You will be contacted by the main office to schedule testing if necessary.
