Thanks to our sponsors and players, the 10th annual Eagle Open raised $13,742 for the students and school!
A NOTE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL
Dear Sponsors and Golfers,
Who says golf is not important?! This year, we celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Eagle Open! Over the past 9 years, our sponsors and players have raised a total of $105,640 (net) for the benefit of our students and school.
What kind of impact did this have on our school? It allowed us to keep our technology up-to-date so we could quickly move to virtual teaching/learning when our school closed due to COVID 19. Our students were taught meaningful lessons, did homework, and were graded. All because people like you sponsored/played in our golf outing! I cannot thank them and the local business community enough for enabling us to continue our mission of education rooted in our Catholic faith during this pandemic.
As you can see, the proceeds from this event are vital to us so we can continue to upgrade our technology, update our facility, and replace textbooks. We have been educating students in Hampton Roads since 1963. This year brought unprecedented changes, but our students were still learning and academically challenged during their virtual lessons. They even attended weekly virtual Mass in keeping with our Catholic faith. The character/leadership program called “The Leader in Me” helped students and parents put first things first and think win-win.
What a difference a year makes! The thing that has not changed, whether we are in the classroom or at home via computer, is our mission to provide a strong academic foundation rooted in our Catholic faith so we are “empowering leaders one faith-filled day at a time!”
So yes, golf is important and I welcome you to join us and contribute to the continuation of our mission! For more information, please contact Amy Chesney (757)420-2455 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
